Awakening Love: Journeying With Jesus

In a world where life’s demands often overshadow our devotion, where distractions pull us away from our deepest desires, there’s a yearning—a longing to love Jesus with our whole being. Welcome to a space where we explore this journey, where we seek to understand why loving Jesus seems like such a struggle, and how we can overcome it.

As we delve into the heart of the matter, we confront a fundamental question: Why is it challenging for us, as Christians, to give everything for the glory of God? In our pursuit of understanding, we find ourselves drawn to the essence of love—love that captivates, love that transforms, love that moves mountains…both within and without.

The conversation begins with a verse, a verse often overlooked yet filled with meaning, from the Song of Solomon: “Many waters cannot quench love, nor can floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised.”

Initially perplexing, this verse becomes a clear as it reveals the depths of love’s mysteries. It speaks of a love so profound that no material wealth can compare, a love that defies logic and transcends boundaries. But how do we apply this wisdom to our lives? It’s one thing to SAY we love Jesus and a whole other thing to walk it out day to day.

The journey unfolds as we navigate the complexities of human emotion, confronting the barriers that hinder our love for Jesus. We discover that the root of our struggle lies not in external limitations but in the depths of our own hearts. It is here, in the secret chambers of our souls, that love must be awakened.

Drawing parallels from the profound love of parents for their children, we glimpse the sacrificial nature of true devotion. A parent will go to extreme lengths to care for their sick child and it makes so much sense to do so, yet we oddly see that same level of devotion for Jesus to be over the top and unnecessary. Whether it is fear, a lukewarm culture, or our past that holds us back, we so often find ourselves holding back from God.

Even if we have the longing to give our all for and to Him we so often forget that the journey begins with the heart. Change the heart and you’ll change the life.

But there is hope—a hope born from the realization that love is not a fleeting emotion but a deliberate choice, a commitment to pursue the beloved at all costs. It is a journey of transformation, a journey from mere words to lived reality.

As we navigate this path, we encounter moments of resistance and moments of triumph. We celebrate the small victories, the moments when our hearts turn towards Jesus, even amidst the chaos of life. And in these moments, we catch a glimpse of the beauty that awaits—a love stronger than death, a love that knows no bounds.

So, dear pilgrim, as we conclude our time together, let us carry with us this truth: the journey of love is not easy, but it is worth every step. Let us cast aside judgment and embrace grace, knowing that our hearts are being transformed, one moment at a time.

Let us commit to love, to seek, and to pursue Jesus with all that we are. For in Him, we find the source of all love, the fulfillment of all longing. And as we journey onward, may our hearts be awakened, our spirits renewed, and our love for Jesus burn brighter than ever before.

Until we next time, may you walk in the light of His love, knowing that you are cherished, you are beloved, and you are called to love with all your heart, soul, and strength.
